SAQCC Fire was established in 1999 and is mandated by the Department of Employment and Labour to register competent and authorised persons working in fire detection and gas suppression.

One of the fundamental objectives of SAQCC Fire is to establish the necessary procedures for the education, training and registration of all appropriate personnel actively involved in the fire industry.

As part of the directive from the Department of Labour, the SAQCC Fire D&GS training subcommittee is in the process of formulating training programmes and qualifications for authorised persons.
